A Futuristic Space Mystery

On a shady assignment, Galactic Retrieval Agent Bronwyn Ash witnesses the first murder in three generations, uncovering an ancient conspiracy threatening a galactic war that humans cannot win. This is just the kind of nonsense that could ruin a perfectly good retrieval rating.

It’s been a century since a blood-thirsty evildoer had to be shot into the bulge of the Black Hole. But non-violent crime persists because some people will always be shit magnets. Which is where we come in. The Galactic Retrieval Agency is a respected service up for hire. Agents retrieve stolen, missing, or absconded people, treasures, or sentimental trash with as little fuss as possible. I’m Bronwyn Ash, Galactic Retrieval Agent. Best gig in the galaxy.

Desperate to pay off my ship and float through space ignoring doubts about love and identity, I took a shady, highly confidential gig. It landed me in ancient conspiracies, freaky space crystals, and my adventure-seeking twin in the middle of it all. Plus, and this pains me to no end, a murder. An actual fucking murder right in front of me. First in three generations. And my top-secret retrieval package? Turned out to be some kind of galactic war-evoking space crystal that was in the possession of my clever, shit magnet twin. The murderer was hunting it, too. Now, I’m not a save-the-world kinda person, but sometimes saving the people you love has bigger implications than anticipated.

When a cunning stranger suggested we team up to save my twin, catch the killer, and retrieve my package, a skeptic might have refused. Me? I’ve always been an optimist. Funny how such an ugly assignment to retrieve one annoying little package could force me to reevaluate who I was while unwittingly saving humanity.
